JOAN LOVE SOMEBODY LIKE YOU

Swapping dungarees for mom jeans, our favourite new duo joan are back with more ‘80s-endorsed, electronic piano-pop in the form of sophomore single ‘love somebody like you’. Following on from their debut ‘take me on’, which we pegged as “totally infectious and endearing indie-pop,” their second release via independent record label 20XX is another catchy, synth-pop smash that’ll have you chiming along to their romantic chorus in an instant. Sweeping through finger clicks, soft electronica, fist-pumping percussion and guitar licks reminiscent of The 1975, the affecting male vocal is bound to draw you into this indie-pop gem. From Little Rock, Arkansas, the relatively new found musical pairing of Alan Thomas and Stephen Rutherford are beginning to put their small town on the musical map. - HT
